Foundations of Quantum Aether Physics (QAP): The Ontology of Substrate - Primacy Restoring Mechanism to the Vacuum

Foundations of Quantum Aether Physics (QAP) is a Tier-I ontological paper within the broader Quantum Aether Framework (QAF), addressing a long-standing explanatory crisis in modern physics: the disconnect between mathematical prediction and physical meaning. While Quantum Mechanics and General Relativity provide extraordinarily accurate equations, they rely on an unresolved abstraction—the vacuum—which is simultaneously treated as “nothing” and as the carrier of all fields, energy, and structure. As a result, core physical quantities such as mass, time, charge, and force are described mathematically but lack a coherent mechanical ontology. This work replaces the Vacuum Abstraction with the Substrate Postulate, formalizing the Quantum Aether as a continuous, non-particulate, super-fluidic dielectric medium characterized by intrinsic physical properties:permittivity (ε₀), permeability (μ₀), and impedance (Z₀). Within this framework: Space is reinterpreted as a polarized dielectric medium. Time is defined as an inductive rate of propagation rather than a geometric dimension. Matter is modeled as localized standing-wave resonance within the substrate. Forces arise from impedance gradients and pressure differentials, not action-at-a-distance. Physical constants (c, ε₀, μ₀, Z₀) emerge as material properties of the substrate rather than arbitrary parameters. QAP does not reject the mathematics of established physics. Instead, it provides a mechanistic reinterpretation of those equations as descriptions of structured medium dynamics, restoring physical intelligibility to concepts that have become purely formal. As Tier I of the Quantum Aether Framework, this paper establishes the ontological foundation upon which subsequent domains are built, including: Quantum Aether Science (QAS) Quantum Aether Harmonics & Chemistry (QAHC) Quantum Aether Electrodynamics (QAE) Quantum Aether Biology (QAB) Quantum Aether Cosmology (QAC) The Drift Velocity Paradox The framework is explicitly testable and falsifiable, with appendices addressing empirical phenomena such as free-space impedance, time dilation, the Casimir effect, and the Sagnac effect. This paper is intended for researchers seeking a physically grounded alternative to vacuum-based abstraction, and for interdisciplinary work spanning physics, chemistry, engineering, biology, and cosmology.
