Awareness as Informational Privilege and Visibility as Lawful Emission
Abstract Systems governed by universal invariants do not, in general, recognize those invariants. This paper resolves a persistent category error in theories of intelligence, cognition, and culture: the assumption that governance implies awareness. We derive that awareness of an invariant is not structurally necessary for persistence but instead constitutes an informational privilege that arises only under rare measurement conditions. We then derive the complementary result: invariant visibility can be injected into systems lawfully through phase-locked emission, without reliance on belief, learning, interpretation, or narrative. Together, these results explain why insight is uncommon in large systems and how clarity can nonetheless be introduced deterministically under bounded drift.
