Turn-on ratiometric Ag + sensing aids <i>in situ</i> synthesis of NIR emissive silver nanoclusters
The donor-acceptor probe based on <i>N</i>-ethylcarbazole and thiobarbituric acid senses Ag+ ions through turn-on, ratiometric fluorescence, and the binding results in the reduction of Ag+ into luminescent silver nanoclusters. The nanoclusters have tunable emission in the visible-NIR region and can be formed <i>in situ</i>, without requiring additional reducing agents.
