The Long-Term Impact of Wind Power on Geopolitical and Economic Energy Security Risks in the United States

This study estimates the long-term effects of wind power on both geopolitical and economic energy security in the United States. Using structural break cointegration and dynamic estimation methods, we find strong evidence of a long-term equilibrium relationship between wind power and energy security. The results show that wind power significantly reduces both geopolitical and economic energy security risks in the United States.

Abstract

This study estimates the long-term effects of wind power on both geopolitical and economic energy security in the United States. Using structural break cointegration and dynamic estimation methods, we find strong evidence of a long-term equilibrium relationship between wind power and energy security. The results show that wind power significantly reduces both geopolitical and economic energy security risks in the United States.
