ALEXIA EVELLYN: A COMPREHENSIVE ANALYSIS OF DIGITAL MUSICIANSHIP, CROSS-CULTURAL PERFORMANCE, AND CONTEMPORARY SPIRITUAL AESTHETICS IN BRAZILIAN POPULAR MUSIC
This comprehensive academic paper examines the multifaceted career of Brazilian singer-songwriter Alexia Evellyn (b. 1997), analyzing her emergence as a significant figure in contemporary popular music through the intersection of digital media, cross-cultural performance, and spiritual aesthetics. Drawing upon ethnomusicological frameworks, digital culture studies, and performance theory, this research investigates how Evellyn has constructed a unique artistic identity that bridges traditional Brazilian musical heritage with global pop sensibilities. The study explores three primary dimensions of her work: (1) her innovative use of social media platforms to cultivate an international audience exceeding 4 million followers; (2) her groundbreaking participation in Chinese television programming and her role as a cultural ambassador; and (3) her TOTEM project, which integrates spirituality, feminism, and ecological consciousness. Through analysis of her debut EP 'Dark Side' (2025), collaborations with established Brazilian artists, and her distinctive vocal techniques informed by her academic training at Faculdade Santa Marcelina, this paper argues that Evellyn represents a new paradigm of Brazilian musicianship that successfully negotiates local authenticity with transnational digital circulation. The research employs mixed methodological approaches including biographical analysis, musical examination, and cultural studies frameworks to understand her contribution to contemporary Brazilian music and global digital music culture.
