ECOLOGICAL AND ECONOMIC ASSESSMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL DAMAGE IN THE TERRITORY OF NORTHEAST CHINA

The article presents an ecological and economic assessment of environmental damage in Northeast China. The analysis utilized the integral index method with an entropy approach to determining the indicator weights. The indicator system includes four blocks: environmental pressure (atmospheric and water pollution, solid waste), environmental state (atmospheric and aquatic environment), damage to ecosystem services (forestation, soil and water conservation), and socio-economic consequences. The article presents the results of calculating the weights of the third-level indicators of the environmental damage assessment system in Northeast China using the entropy method, which includes 28 key indicators, and determines the integral indices of aggregated indicators, which were used to conduct a graphical comparative analysis of four aggregated groups of environmental damage indicators in Northeast China. The weighting coefficient values ranged from 1.37% to 11.97%. The results showed that for the period 2015-2020. Environmental pressure has been significantly reduced, but high long-term risks to public health and agriculture remain. The findings allow us to refine environmental policy and identify priorities for sustainable development in the region.
