SemanticOps: An Operational Framework for Governing Meaning in AI-Driven Systems

This foundational white paper introduces SemanticOps, an operational layer for governing meaning in AI-driven systems. While modern organizations have successfully automated code, data, and models through DevOps, DataOps, and MLOps, semantic coherence remains fragile and largely unmanaged. SemanticOps addresses this gap by treating knowledge and meaning as living operational infrastructure—observable, versioned, auditable, and continuously governed through human–AI collaboration. The paper defines the conceptual foundations, architectural layers, operational cycle, and governance principles of SemanticOps, positioning it as a transversal semantic layer that connects data pipelines, machine learning systems, knowledge graphs, and adaptive AI. Rather than proposing a concrete technical implementation, this work establishes the language, principles, and cognitive structures required to enable future systems capable of sustained semantic alignment. This document serves as the foundational white paper of the SemanticOps framework and is intended for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers working on AI governance, knowledge representation, MLOps, and human–AI systems.
