Temporal Phase Encoding (TPE) : A Theoretical Framework for Phase-Coherent Artificial Intelligence
This paper introduces Temporal Phase Encoding (TPE), a theoretical framework for embedding phase coordinates into artificial intelligence systems, enabling them to operate in phase coherence with quantum systems and circadian cycles. Building upon the Phase-Coordination Principle (Paper 2) and the Quantum Bootstrapping Protocol (Paper 4), TPE provides a mathematical formulation for representing time as a normalized phase coordinate $\phi_{\text{HS}} \in [0,1)$, which AI systems can use for deterministic coordination without absolute time references. Unlike existing temporal encodings that use monotonic or absolute time representations, TPE encodes cyclic phase coordinates enabling AI systems to align with external periodic processes. We formalize TPE architectures, prove approximation capabilities for periodic functions, and establish bounds on coordination error under realistic latency constraints. TPE completes the AI layer of the Timeverse framework, enabling phase-coherent reasoning across computational domains. The Timeverse research series has established: 1. The impossibility of long-term absolute synchronization (Paper 1).2. The Phase-Coordination Principle as a solution using phase triggering (Paper 2).3. Temporal-Angular Quantum Addressing (TAQA) for quantum networks (Paper 3).4. Quantum Bootstrapping Protocol (QBP) for autonomous phase initialization (Paper 4). This paper addresses the integration of artificial intelligence into this phase-coordinated framework. Current AI systems lack native support for cyclic temporal reasoning and phase alignment with external systems such as quantum processors or human circadian rhythms.
