Density-Dependent Gravitational Couplings from Charged Plasma Coherence Theoretical Foundations and Consistency Conditions Paper I: Microscopic Origin and Consistency Conditions

This work proposes a simple modification to gravity in which the gravitational strength depends on the local density of ordinary matter. The idea is that gravity becomes slightly stronger in low-density environments, while standard general relativity is recovered at high density. The key result is that this can be done without adding new fields or changing the structure of Einstein’s equations: the stress–energy tensor can be rescaled by a density-dependent factor and still remain exactly covariantly conserved. In short, the paper presents a consistent theoretical basis for a density-dependent gravitational coupling.

Abstract

This work proposes a simple modification to gravity in which the gravitational strength depends on the local density of ordinary matter. The idea is that gravity becomes slightly stronger in low-density environments, while standard general relativity is recovered at high density. The key result is that this can be done without adding new fields or changing the structure of Einstein’s equations: the stress–energy tensor can be rescaled by a density-dependent factor and still remain exactly covariantly conserved. In short, the paper presents a consistent theoretical basis for a density-dependent gravitational coupling.
