Comment on H-COUP Version 3 A program for one-loop corrected decays of any Higgs bosons in non-minimal Higgs models

This document presents a formal technical Comment on the publication“H-COUP Version 3: A program for one-loop corrected decays of any Higgs bosons in non-minimal Higgs models” (Comput. Phys. Commun. 300, 109231). The analysis critically examines the methodological foundations and physical claims of the H-COUP Version 3 framework, with particular attention to the renormalization scheme, gauge dependence, absence of renormalization-group control, incompatibility with effective field theory matching, selective treatment of non-decoupling effects, and the lack of a systematic theoretical uncertainty estimate. While acknowledging the utility of H-COUP as a phenomenological computational tool within a restricted class of extended Higgs models, this Comment demonstrates that the level of theoretical control required for precision Higgs physics and future collider applications is not achieved. The numerical results are therefore shown to be intrinsically model-dependent and scheme-specific, limiting their interpretation as robust physical predictions. This work is intended to promote methodological clarity, transparency, and rigor in the interpretation of precision studies of extended Higgs sectors.
