CloudPulse: A Lightweight and Automated System for Real-Time Cloud Infrastructure Monitoring
CloudPulse is a lightweight, automated, and scalable cloud-monitoring system designed for modern distributed environments. It integrates a C++17 monitoring agent for real-time metric collection, a MariaDB time-series database for structured storage, a Python-based automation engine for threshold evaluation, and a ServiceNow ITSM connector for incident generation. The system addresses key challenges in cloud observability, including performance overhead, manual incident handling, and inefficient alerting mechanisms. This paper presents the full design, methodology, requirement analysis, implementation, testing, limitations, and future scope of CloudPulse, demonstrating how it enables reliable monitoring with minimal system footprint.
