Implementation for Finite Element Analysis of Continuous Fiber-Reinforced Composites using Membrane-Embedded Model in MATLAB

The membrane-embedded model has advantages in the efficiency of the finite element modeling and computation. However, there are no open-source codes available to popularize this method. Therefore, this paper provides an open source 396-line MATLAB code for finite element analysis of continuous fiber-reinforced composites using the membrane-embedded model. The finite element formulations are comprehensively summarized to describe this model. The codes are explained in detail. Numerical examples demonstrate the effectiveness of the MATLAB codes. To verify the accuracy of the MATLAB codes, the displacement results obtained from this membrane-embedded model are compared with those from the refined model.
