The Witches’ Choir
Abstract: This contribution on the material culture of witchcraft and magic provides translations of six songs by the Chór czarownic [the Witches’ Choir], a semi-amateur performance-art collective that has come to capture the experience, and the rage, of women in contemporary Poland, and to channel that experience and rage into action. A brief introduction puts the Witches’ Choir into the context of twenty-first century Polish politics and society.
