Corrigendum to the paper “Revealing intra- and inter-container fruit quality heterogeneity within overseas refrigerated container shipments using a physics-based digital twin”

The author regards corrections in the equations in this artilce- Impact of the air turbulent thermal conductivity λt In Eq. 3.4 and 3.6, the turbulent thermal conductivity of the air (λt) is presented. In the published paper, this parameter is not further explained or clarified. Unfortunately, we have found that in the final model, which was used to run the simulations, λt was accidently disabled. This means that λt was equal to 0. The published paper does not mention a specific value or expression for this turbulent thermal conductivity. However, to avoid any misunderstanding, we want to clearly specify in this corrigendum that λt was equal to 0. As the airflow is turbulent, λt should have been enabled, such that λt got calculated from μt. We have run the base case simulation again, this time with λt being active. The results are given in Figs. 1 and 2 below. As the results indicate, the impact of λt on the computed results is very small and is negligible considering the aim of the study. In our study, no absolute fruit quality quantification was targeted, as the goal was to make a relative comparison between the shipments and different locations within a shipment. The impact on the computed results is, thus, negligible. Moreover, there is no impact on the conclusions. All conclusions remain the same, and the outcomes or recommendations, as formulated in the published paper, will not change. We consider this minor error to be significant as readers may misinterpret the current equations. Therefore, we would suggest adding a sentence to the current published, as follows: "It was noted that when running the final simulations, λt was accidently equal to 0 (instead of being calculated from μt).". We guarantee again that it does not affect the findings of the paper. The error occurred inadvertently, and the correction does not affect the scientific findings reported in the paper.
