Successful Use of Bimekizumab in Refractory Acute Generalised Exanthematous Pustulosis Triggered by Amoxicillin‐Clavulanate
ABSTRACT Acute generalised exanthematous pustulosis (AGEP) is a rare, acute neutrophilic dermatosis most commonly triggered by drugs, which typically resolves within 2 weeks following withdrawal of the causative agent. Topical and systemic corticosteroids remain the standard treatment. However, some cases follow a prolonged or treatment‐refractory course. In such instances, the absence of validated alternative therapeutic strategies can complicate clinical management. Emerging evidence suggests the involvement of interleukin (IL)‐17 in pathogenesis, highlighting its role as a key cytokine in neutrophilic inflammation. We report a case of AGEP induced by amoxicillin‐clavulanate, exhibiting a severe and corticosteroid‐resistant progression, successfully treated with off‐label bimekizumab, a monoclonal antibody targeting both IL‐17A and IL‐17F.
