An integrated Knowledge Management System to support Open Science training

OLS is a not-for-profit organisation, dedicated to capacity building and diversifying leadership in research worldwide (https://we-are-ols.org/). Since 2020, we have trained 400+ participants across 50+ countries in Open Science practices, with the help of 300+ mentors and experts. We present our Knowledge Management System (KMS), a live, open‑source pipeline that connects people, data and processes to drive community impact and research‑software best practice. In this poster, you’ll see: Pipeline diagrams illustrating integrations between GitHub Actions, Python scripts, CiviCRM, Zotero, CSV and Jupyter for cohort coordination. Impact metrics visualised to show how automation frees human effort for higher‑order tasks. A contributor map displaying the global distribution of the OLS community. We’ll demonstrate how the KMS, designed for transparency and collaboration, supports both Research Excellence—by embedding metadata standards and reproducibility into everyday practice—and Human Digital Research Infrastructure (DRI)—by mapping the “people layer” of software infrastructure. Designed to reuse, our KMS integrates with open data solutions, offering a toolkit for like-minded organisations seeking to streamline workflows, credit volunteers, and scale open‑science impact.
