Operational Detection of Time - Measurable Regimes in Seismic Systems via Recursive Coherence

This repository contains a research prototype application and associated datasets used in the study “Operational Detection of Time-Measurable Regimes in Seismic Systems via Recursive Coherence”. The application implements a coherence-based, causally evaluated framework for identifying time-measurable regimes in seismic precursor data. Rather than attempting continuous time prediction, the system detects the emergence of ordered recurrence using a Time Disorder Index (TDI) and enables timing estimates only when this condition is satisfied. The primary purpose of this release is reproducibility and independent evaluation of the results reported in the accompanying article. The application and datasets allow users to replicate the backtest analysis, inspect gated versus ungated regimes, and verify the magnitude-dependent behavior of time predictability. Contents A browser-based test application implementing: recursive coherence signal construction, TDI-based gating of time prediction, causal timing correction within gated regimes. Retrospective seismic datasets used for backtesting and evaluation. Output files generated during analysis (episodes, backtest results). Scope and Limitations This software is provided as a research and test prototype. It is not intended for operational earthquake forecasting, early warning systems, or safety-critical decision-making. No claims are made regarding real-time performance or public hazard mitigation. User-adjustable interface parameters (e.g., visualization thresholds, horizon lengths, scaling coefficients, and regional presets) are included for exploratory analysis and diagnostics. Unless explicitly stated, these parameters do not affect the core gating criterion or the timing results reported in the article. Relation to the Article The application serves as an operational implementation of the methods described in the paper and provides empirical support for the central result: time predictability in seismic systems emerges only after the establishment of ordered recurrence, particularly for higher-magnitude events (approximately M ≥ 5).
