Evaluation of Power Influence Parameters of Flame Radiation on Local Radiative Heat Transfer in Marine Diesel Combustion Chamber

Experimental and calculation data for the power parameters of the flame radiation—temperature, degree of blackness, and concentration particles of soot—in the high-speed and medium-speed regimes of the combustion chamber of a marine diesel engine are given. The data open possibilities for the development of new models of marine diesel engines and more adequate determination of the boundary conditions of the working gas by evaluation of the thermal and power deformed condition of the components of the combustion chamber. Calculation data on these parameters obtained using various mathematical models allow accurate differentiation of combustion chamber types. The influence of effective fluxes of radiation on the value of radiative thermal loads of the combustion chamber components even for marine diesel engines with extra high parameters of the working process are insignificant and may be disregarded. The purpose of the article is the presentation, discussion, and analysis of the influence of experimental and calculation data for the power parameters of the flame radiation on the process of local radiative heat transfer in the combustion chamber of marine diesel engines. Experimental and calculation data for the power parameters of the flame radiation may be used for verification of mathematical models of the process of local radiative heat transfer and for evaluation of the influence of thermal and power deformation conditions of the combustion chamber components on the design parameters.
