Glenohumeral stabilisation using the modified latarjet-patte procedure : Functional and radiological results
The objective of this study was to assess the functional and radiological results of the Latarjet procedure in the treatment of chronic anterior shoulder instability. This was a retrospective study in which 40 coracoid bone blocks were performed. The minimum follow-up period was 42 months with an average of 54 months. 70% of the patients were athletes and 90% were men. The ROWE, CONSTANT, DASH, and OXFORD scores were used. 95% of patients were satisfied, 5% were dissatisfied. No cases had recurrence. The average CONSTANT score was 79.47. Thus the results of our study were as follows: 60% excellent results. 27% good results. 13% of average results. The DASH score noted 32 excellent results (80%), 6 very good results (15%), and 2 good result (5%). The radiographic results of the bone block were perfect in 36 cases, protruding in 2 case, i.e., 5%, and recessed in 2 case. With 95% of patients satisfied and 9% of failures, this series is comparable to the others. Nevertheless, it stands out with an unusual rate of persistent apprehension.
