Interest of the masquelet technique in the management of refractory humeral non-union
The rate of pseudarthrosis in humeral fractures varies from 0 to 10%, and the treatment of this complication remains complex, with a non-negligible rate of complications and failures. On the one hand, iterative neurolysis of the radial nerve may lead to a risk of postoperative paralysis. On the other hand, there is still a high rate of failure to consolidate humeral with internal fixation and bone grafting remain high. There are few series on the management of failed humeral pseudarthrosis. On the basis of our case and a review of the literature, we report on the value of induced membrane in the management of refractory humeral non-union.
