ACL reconstruction using quadriceps tendon graft : Technique description and analysis of functional outcome
Introduction : As ACL injuries continue to rise, interest in effective surgical treatments grows. This study explores the use of quadriceps tendon (QT) autografts as a viable option for ACL reconstruction. Methods & Results : Ten male patients underwent ACL reconstruction using QT grafts. Postoperative outcomes at six months were generally positive, with pain relief and improved stability noted in 80% of cases. Knee stability tests showed promising results, and functional scores improved significantly post-surgery. Discussion & Conclusion : QT grafts offer advantages over traditional techniques, with fewer donor site complications. Comparative studies suggest comparable or superior outcomes to hamstring tendon grafts. Surgeons are encouraged to consider QT grafts as a valuable option for ACL reconstruction, pending further research.
