an exceptional case of an open proximal interphalangeal dislocation of the 5th finger, incoercible, with interposition of the tendon and without rupture and fracture
Open dislocations of the proximal interphalangeal joint are rare, even more so in the absence of fracture and tendon injury. The management must be rapid, in emergency, for a reduction of the articular surface, a stabilization and an early functional re-education, guaranteeing a fast recovery of the function and to avoid the complications dominated by the stiffness which can endanger the function of the finger and consequently that of the hand with a repercussion on the force of gripping and squeezing, in particular when they concern the 5th finger, the one of the force. This is what we will keep in mind in the case of the patient in our study who presents with a proximal interphalangeal dislocation of the 5th finger of the right (dominant) hand without an associated phalangeal fracture and without tendon rupture
