L-Borneol Quaternary Ammonium Salt Corrosion Inhibitor Performance
Researchers prepared a dodecyl dimethyl L-Borneol chloroacetate (DD-LBCA) corrosion inhibitor and studied the effect of DD-LBCA on the corrosion resistance of metals. The corrosion inhibition of DD-LBCA was analyzed by electrochemical tests. The results show that in a 0.5 mol sulfuric acid (H2SO4) solution, the corrosion inhibition efficiency of 0.05 wt% DD-LBCA is 16.12%, which is considered effective corrosion inhibition. Antibacterial tests showed that DD-LBCA has excellent antibacterial properties against Escherichia coli (E. coli) and Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) with a minimum inhibitory concentration of 8 μg/mL.
