Surgical management of displaced scapular fractures: a retrospective study using the dorsal judet approach
Introduction: This study evaluates the efficacy of the dorsal JUDET approach in treating displaced scapular fractures, emphasizing the need for surgical intervention in specific cases. Methods: A cohort of 10 patients underwent surgery using the dorsal JUDET approach. Surgical procedures included reconstruction plate fixation. Results: Postoperative outcomes showed successful union, restored motion, and commendable CONSTANT scores. Surgical criteria involved open fractures, severe angulation, and specific displacement thresholds. Discussion: Findings underscore the dorsal JUDET approach's versatility and effectiveness, emphasizing timely surgical intervention for optimal recovery. Conclusion: The study provides insights for clinicians considering surgery in specific scapular fracture cases. Ongoing research promises further advancements in managing displaced scapular fractures.
