Effect of recycled brick powder (RBP) as filler in AC-WC mixtures
This research explores the innovative use of recycled brick powder, a waste material from construction projects, as a filler in AC-WC mixtures. The method used in mixture design, making test objects, testing, and analyzing test results, is the Marshall Method. The AC-WC mixture variations studied were 0%-RBP, 5%-RBP, 10%-RBP, and 15%-RBP. The mixture performance reviewed was the Residual Strength Index (RSI) with the Immersion Method. The results of the soaking test gave RSI values of 91.40% for the 0%-RBP variation, 93.37% for the 5%-RBP variation, 99.24% for the 10%-RBP variation, and 99.59% for the 15%-RBP variation. According to the testing results, the RSI values for all variations of the mixture meet the 2018 specifications, which is the RSI value ≥ 90%. The results demonstrate that RBP enhances durability, making it a viable, sustainable alternative to traditional fillers.
