Fungal Arthritis of Finger Joint Due to Aspergillus Species: A Case Report and Review of Literature
Abstract Fungal arthritis of the finger joint is rare but associated with significant mortality. We report a rare case of fungal arthritis of the finger joint caused by Aspergillus species in an immunocompetent adult patient. The patient presented with progressive pain and swelling in the affected finger, with histopathology and culture confirming the diagnosis. Surgical debridement and antifungal therapy led to clinical resolution. We also review the current literature regarding Aspergillus -related osteoarticular infections, diagnostic approaches, and treatment strategies.
