UDLM™: A Universal Digital Schooling Model for Equitable and Resilient Education
This preprint introduces the Universal Digital Learning Model (UDLM™) as a comprehensive educational standard for digital schooling. UDLM™ is not a learning management system (LMS) or a technological platform, but a human-centered framework for evaluating and designing digital education from learning environment design through instructional delivery to learner development and long-term outcomes. The model is curriculum-agnostic and applicable across diverse educational contexts. It integrates academic instruction, learner wellbeing, purpose-driven skill development, AI-enhanced content delivery, live learning sessions, structured learning clubs, mandatory physical activity integration, motivation and points-based reinforcement systems, community-based learning hubs, and real-world engagement. By positioning digital education as an integrated educational ecosystem rather than a platform-centered solution, UDLM™ offers institutions, educators, and policymakers a practical standard for assessing and improving the quality, equity, and resilience of digital schooling.
