A Standard Vocabulary for Entropy, Collapse, and Active Coherence in Complex Systems
This paper introduces a standardized operational vocabulary for describing entropy management, collapse dynamics, and active coherence across complex systems. The mechanisms addressed here—entropy accumulation, regulatory action, and irreversible collapse—are already empirically observed in physical, computational, cognitive, and social domains. However, they are currently described using fragmented and domain-specific terminology, which obscures their structural equivalence. This work does not propose any new physical laws, theories, or metaphysical claims. Its sole purpose is to define a minimal, cross-domain set of terms that enables consistent description of systems governed by active negentropy constraints. By formalizing these definitions, the paper provides a shared linguistic infrastructure that facilitates interdisciplinary comparison, reduces semantic drift, and improves conceptual clarity in the study of complex, non-equilibrium systems.
