Reversal of Canities in a Patient With Frontal Fibrosing Alopecia
ABSTRACT Frontal fibrosing alopecia (FFA) is a primary lymphocytic cicatricial alopecia, most commonly affecting postmenopausal women, characterized by progressive frontotemporal hairline recession and eyebrow loss. Hair repigmentation (canities reversal) is an extremely rare event, especially in older individuals with long‐standing white hair. We report the case of a 72‐year‐old woman presenting with progressive frontotemporal alopecia and concurrent hair repigmentation. Clinical and dermoscopic findings, supported by histopathology, confirmed the diagnosis of FFA. This case contributes to the limited literature on the association between FFA and canities reversal, suggesting that this unusual sign may serve as a diagnostic clue.
