A new hypothesis about Cart Ruts
In the present report, Italian researcher and engineer Alberto Donini sets out a new hypothesis concerning the origin of the enigmatic “Cart Ruts”, parallel ruts in rocks found in several locations, including Malta, Turkey, and the Italian regions of Apulia and Sardinia. Based on a considerable number of observations, the author concludes that some of these features were neither ruts created by Bronze Age wooden carts nor “Roman roads”. Rather, they are traces of ancient means of transport that moved through mud, which subsequently petrified. The article concludes with an invitation for other researchers and archaeologists to collaborate in the next phase of the project.
