Operational Coherence: Applying the N1 Operator to Physical, Computational, and Neural Systems

This paper introduces N1 as an operational negentropy-export operator applicable to physical, computational, biological, and social systems. Unlike classical entropy, which quantifies disorder, N1 measures the real-time capacity of a system to export incoherence (Aleph) fast enough to maintain structural stability. We demonstrate how N1 predicts observable behaviors in GPUs, information-processing machines, neural systems under metabolic load, and engineered control systems. The core claim is that coherence is not a metaphysical property but a measurable operational variable governed by the rate at which a system removes accumulated incoherence. N1 thus unifies Landauer-style information dissipation, Prigogine’s dissipative structures, and cognitive load theory into a single framework with predictive power. The operator N1 allows coherent modeling of downclock events in GPUs, burnout in neural circuits, stability thresholds in engineered systems, and collapse conditions in social structures. This establishes N1 as a practical tool for analyzing real systems rather than a purely formal construct.
