Autonomous Drugs Optimal Management, Part III: Electrode-Tip Temperature Control in Radiofrequency Ablation for Breast Cancer using D-P and First Order Compensators Compared with a PID Controller
This is the third research paper in a series aiming at investigating the autonomous drugs optimal management. It handles the control of the electrode-tip of the radiofrequency ablation system to increase the efficacy of the tumor ablation of females-breast cancer. Two control compensators are proposed to control the electrode tip and a simulation data for 20 V input from a 2020 research paper is addressed to find a reasonable transfer function model for this process. The proposed compensators (D-P and first-order) are tuned and analyzed in a single control-loop with the RFA electrode for the step time response for a specific desired tip temperature tracking and compared with using a PID controller tuned by the authors. The best controller/compensator is assigned and its robustness is checked.
