Social data collection plan
This plan outlines a practical, evidence-based approach for examining how co-learning shapes the adoption of new technologies in the European fishing industry. Grounded in the understanding that innovation emerges from the interplay of social, institutional, and ecological factors, the Infinifish project brings together fishers, researchers, and technology developers to co-create effective, context-specific solutions. By focusing on real-world learning processes and collaborative knowledge generation, the framework seeks to accelerate technology uptake and strengthen sustainable fisheries management. Its methodological design integrates longitudinal case studies, participatory action research, and ethnography to capture the dynamic, situated, and evolving nature of learning within everyday fishing practices. This framework is a working document and will remain responsive to insights emerging from fieldwork, allowing for updates and refinement as needed. Note: This is a preprint. The deliverable is subject to review and approval by the European Commission, which has not taken place yet.
