Multiple Partitives in Hittite

Abstract The paper deals with the multiple partitive construction in Hittite. It involves two or more clauses that each employ either a wh -element ( kui -) or a demonstrative ( kā - “this”, apā - “that”). I review the previous analyses and show that wh -elements in multiple partitives are a special class of wh -indeterminates (a class of elements including relative, interrogative and indefinite pronouns).
