Shedding water: using mechanochemistry to drive liquid assisted synthesis of the energetic complex glycine–magnesium tetrahydrate
This communication uses mechanochemistry to rapidly synthesize a metal salt complex. The synthesis is initiated by the impact of the reactants and transitions to liquid-assisted synthesis via the shedding of crystalline water from the metal salt.
