THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN FLUORIDE CONCENTRATION AND VARIOUS CHEMICAL PARAMETERS IN DRINKING WATER WELLS LOCATED IN THE JANZOUR AREA OF LIBYA
The objective of the current study was to evaluate the relationship betweenfluoride concentration and various chemical parameters in drinking water wells inLibya’s Janzour region. A total of 20 water wells samples were collected forexamine pH, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), fluoride Conc. And electricconductivity (EC) traits. The results showed that pH levels fluctuate from 7.09 to8.94. The total dissolved solids (TDS) content spans from 541.44 to 5040. 32mg/L (the safe limit of 1500 mg/L). Fluoride levels exhibitvariability, ranging from 0.83 to 1.80 mg/L (allowed limit of 1.5 mg/L). Asignificant effect was observed (P≤ 0.01 or P≤ 0.05) concerning fluoride thegreater value was 1.58 for group I (wells No.: 5,7,13,18 ,19 and 20) compared to1.21 for group II (wells No.: 8,9,10,11,12,14, and 16), furthermore, group IIregistered values of 2103.78 and 2814.38 in contrast to group I 1295.61 and1970.57 pertaining to TDS and EC ( highest limit of 1500 mg/L), respectively.Conversely, no significant influence was observed for pH levels across the twosets. It can be concluded from the results of this study that the wells water need acontinuous corrective measure to reduce the impact of fluoride, total dissolvedsolids, and electrical conductivity on human health
