The present work examines the leadership management in Cuban high-performance sports, based on an approach to the activities and perspectives of 45 executives operating at this level. The aim of the research is to identify the characteristics and needs of the leadership process management in high-performance sports within the Cuban context. As research methods, document analysis, observation, and surveys are applied. Deficiencies are identified in the performance of the professionals participating in the study, and it is deemed necessary to design a model to contribute to the improvement of this activity’s management.
