Freshwater leeches of the genus π»π‘’π‘šπ‘–π‘π‘™π‘’π‘π‘ π‘–π‘  VejdovskΓ½, 1884 were collected in Hokkaido, Japan, and identified as 𝐻. π‘ π‘β„Žπ‘Ÿπ‘’π‘›π‘π‘˜π‘– Bolotov, Klass, Bespalaya, Konopleva, Kondakov & Vikhrev, 2019.
