Ações estratégicas para o aprimoramento da gestão do movimento esportivo na Universidade de Pinar del Río

The management of the sports movement at universities represents an essential pillar for the comprehensive training of students, as it contributes to the development of healthy habits, values, and a sense of institutional belonging. At the University of Pinar del Río, it has been identified that this process shows deficiencies related to organizational disarticulation, limited integration among stakeholders, and a lack of systematic actions. In response to this reality, this article aims to propose strategic actions that contribute to the improvement of the sports movement management process at UPR. For this purpose, the general method used was the dialectical-materialist approach, supported by theoretical methods such as historical-logical, systemic-structural, and modeling; and empirical methods like interviews and surveys. The sample consisted of vice deans of university extension, professors from the Department of Physical Education and Services, sports coordinators, athlete students, and sports promoters. As a result, three strategic actions were designed to structure the process more efficiently: integration of functions and tasks in line with institutional policies, strengthening hierarchical and coordination relationships among actors, and systematization of the planning, execution, control, and evaluation stages. It is concluded that the designed actions strengthen the management process of the sports movement from a flexible, participatory perspective aligned with the objectives of Cuban Higher Education.
