Instrumental Peace in the Gaza Ceasefire: Linguistic Power and the Reconfiguration of Control
This paper examines the 2025 Gaza ceasefire agreement through the concept of Instru- mental Peace, analyzing how the language of humanitarian peace functions as a political apparatus of control. According to international reports, Hamas has stated that it would not agree to complete disarmament, which exposes the structural fragility of the ceasefire. The study argues that peace, in this context, does not signify the end of war but rather the recon- figuration of dominance under moral and security rhetoric. By integrating philosophical, historical, and linguistic analysis, the paper demonstrates that the Gaza ceasefire repre- sents a paradigm of how modern power systems sustain militarization under the discourse of peace.
