Journey Towards Sustainable Construction Under the Shadow of Lack of Awareness

Sustainable construction (SC) is an important topic for study and application because it can lessen the damaging effects of the building sector on the environment. According to the present climate situations it can be clearly say that it is getting worse day by day due to the pollution that we cause and it’s our responsible to save our climate. It should become mandatory to follow sustainability in construction sector because it is one of the biggest sectors that cause environment pollution, and this sector brings around 40% to 50% of other industries alongside. So, it’s better to Build for the future, without compromising the present: sustainable construction for a greener tomorrow. This research was initiated to understand the impact of lack of knowledge of sustainable material choices, regulations, and design practices towards sustainable construction. The quantitative surveys were conducted to collect the data from the professional working in construction industries worldwide. The findings suggest though lack of awareness for the building materials towards a sustainable construction is the biggest issues in the construction industry. The findings of the research provide a timely insight for the industry to plan and respond to the industry facing for reaching desired sustainability level.
