Combinatie van Landbouwbijproducten en Elektrocoagulatie om Nutriënten uit Huishoudelijk Afvalwater te Verwijderen en te Herwinnen
The abundance of phosphorus and nitrogen in the aqueous environment leads to the opening of their natural cycles, causing many supply challenges and environmental problems. Many technologies have been developed in view of circular economy and zero waste to tackle these problems. However, each of these technologies is only targeted on removing/recovering single elements and is only compatible with a certain type of water. These disadvantages can be overcome by an alternative approach of combination of different technologies. This thesis aims to utilize agricultural by-products with strategy of excessing PO43- to completely remove and recover NH4+ in domestic wastewater by struvite crystallization/precipitation, followed by electrocoagulation to further enhance the removal/recovery efficiency of PO43-.
