A systematic review of barriers and facilitators in cross-sectoral collaboration between educational psychologists and psychiatric units

Aims
The aim of this review is to examine the reliable barriers and facilitators that affect cross-sector collaboration in addressing poor mental health and low wellbeing among children and adolescents. This review particularly focuses on interventions that involve collaboration between educational psychology practices and psychiatric units. By identifying these factors, we aim to enhance the effectiveness of such collaborations and improve mental health outcomes for children and adolescents.

Methods
A systematic literature search was conducted using four databases, resulting in the identification of 1,525 records for screening. Research on other types of cross-sector collaboration has been utilized to identify potential barriers and facilitators relevant to this specific collaboration in child and adolescent mental health. The review will analyze these records to determine common themes and insights that can inform future practices.

Results and Conclusions
The results of the screening will be presented, highlighting the challenges and advantages of cross-sector collaboration involving professionals from educational psychology and psychiatry. These professionals often have differing educational backgrounds and views on interventions, etiology, and treatment, which can impact the collaboration process. Understanding the barriers and facilitators in cross-sector collaboration is essential for informing the future implementation of these partnerships. By addressing these challenges, we can ultimately benefit children and youth in need of mental health support. The findings from this review will contribute to the broader research project "Best for Us," aiming to improve mental health interventions through effective cross-sector collaboration.
