Izboljšanje arhitekturnega načrtovanja z BIM in robotskim rezanjem z vročo žico za parametrične opaže

This research investigates the integration of Building Information Modelling (BIM), parametric design, and Robotic Hot-Wire Cutting (RHWC) to advance the design, fabrication, and interoperability of prefabricated concrete components for the CREE building system. While prefabrication is increasingly recognized as a pathway to sustainability, efficiency, and scalability in construction, traditional moldmaking methods often limit design complexity, increase material waste, and hinder automation. By combining computational design workflows with robotic fabrication and BIM-based data management, this study develops a scalable and automated methodology for producing two types of prefabricated components: façade panels and prefabricated shower slabs, to deliver scalable, precise, and sustainable solutions. The research methodology follows a parametric-to-robotic workflow. Geometric, structural, and fabrication constraints are first encoded into parametric models in Grasshopper and Rhino, enabling dynamic control of drainage slopes, reinforcement layouts, fixing system details, and façade geometries. These models are translated into RHWC-compatible geometries and toolpaths using robotic programming platforms. The two case studies demonstrate the workflow’s versatility within the CREE system: BIM supports modular façade panels and optimizes shower slabs for drainage, reinforcement, and installation. By embedding fabrication constraints into BIM, the process reduces errors, improves automation, and ensures lifecycle traceability. Results show BIM-integrated robotic fabrication improves accuracy and scalability. The produced components achieved high-quality surfaces, structural integrity, and performance reliability, confirming industrial viability. Overall, the research delivers a replicable workflow that unites parametric modeling, BIM interoperability, and robotic hot-wire cutting, adaptable across façades, bathroom modules, and prototypes, advancing sustainable and automated prefabrication for next-generation construction.
