Ecospace-ing? - Towards a transdisciplinary method for activating the regenerative potential of local spatial niches across terrestrial and built diversities

This short paper, reports findings from the initial mirroring of central principles across the three disciplines of architecture, sociology and biology in the ‘Ecospacing’ collaboration. Resulting from a series of systematic mutual interviews conducted between December 2024 and June 2025, using ‘ecospace’ as a traveling’ concept, the paper presents a set of shared ontological principles enabling the formulation of a shared research design.

Abstract

This short paper, reports findings from the initial mirroring of central principles across the three disciplines of architecture, sociology and biology in the ‘Ecospacing’ collaboration. Resulting from a series of systematic mutual interviews conducted between December 2024 and June 2025, using ‘ecospace’ as a traveling’ concept, the paper presents a set of shared ontological principles enabling the formulation of a shared research design.
