Het Potentieel van Startups Benutten: Onderzoek, Signalen en Ondersteunende Structuren
This dissertation investigates how high-potential startups, academic and accelerated, can better access early-stage equity investment. It explores the unique features and constraints of science-based ventures and how public and private support mechanisms shape their trajectories. Three empirical studies examine the signaling power of public funding, the heterogeneity of academic entrepreneurs, and the necessary conditions within accelerator design. The thesis contributes to research, policy, and practice by identifying critical bottlenecks and offering tailored strategies to support high-growth venture development.
