Income Analysis of IP250 Rice Farming in the Pekuncen Irrigation Area
Lowland rice farming plays a crucial role in supporting national food security; however, its sustainability and feasibility remain challenges at the farmer level. This study was conducted to determine the social conditions, production costs, income, sustainability, and feasibility of lowland rice farming among the Kalimanggis I Farmer Group. This study employed simple random sampling to select a sample of 56 IP250 lowland rice farmers. The results showed that the majority of farmers were between 46 and 50 years old, had an elementary school education, owned their own land, and had more than 30 years of experience. The production cost per planting season was IDR 1,607,473, with an income of IDR 2,175,000, resulting in a net income of IDR 567,527. The R/C ratio value of 1.33 indicates that this farming business is feasible to develop. Additionally, the Break-Even Point (BEP) analysis indicates that farmers are currently making a profit at the current level of production and price. These findings suggest that increasing the Cropping Index (CI) can be an effective strategy for enhancing farmers' income and the sustainability of agricultural businesses.
