Open Source meets Open Science
This session explores why software has become a central component of the scholarly ecosystem and how open source practices directly support the goals of Open Science. Using the Software Heritage universal source code archive as an example, the session shows how source code captures essential scientific knowledge and why preserving, referencing, and describing it are key to reproducibility and long-term access. The presentation provides a practical overview of the themes that are shared between Open Science and Open Source: version control: using git licensing- open source and copyleft metadata and documenting with codemeta.json archival workflows creating services, tools, and products for stakeholders in Academia
