Measurement as TSO Synchronization: A Mechanistic Alternative to the Quantum Collapse Postulate
This work further develops the Time–Space Oscillation (TSO) framework as a fully mechanistic alternative to the quantum-mechanical collapse postulate. In this approach, every elementary entity is modeled as an intrinsic time–space harmonic oscillator whose internal frequency encodes its inertial mass via the Compton relation. Measurement is reinterpreted as a phase-synchronization process between the system and the apparatus, resulting in decoherence and apparent state selection through dynamical alignment of TSO structures, rather than a fundamental discontinuity. A key insight of the theory is that a quantum system initially possesses an infinite-dimensional parameter ensemble defined over a looping time–space manifold. When coupled to a detector, this ensemble is rapidly reduced to a sharply localized set of harmonically compatible solutions—a process that naturally explains parameter binding, collapse-like behavior, and detector eigenstate selection. The TSO framework further provides a local and geometry-based explanation of entanglement. What appear as multiple separated particles in Euclidean space emerge from a single intrinsic oscillator mapped into the observer’s coordinates through non-Euclidean time–space transformations. As a result, phase correlations persist without requiring nonlocal influences or superluminal signalling. The article outlines testable predictions, including curvature-dependent decoherence times, phase-distribution narrowing, and controlled decay of entanglement under artificial TSO curvature perturbations. Together, these results suggest new experimental pathways for probing the deep structure of time–space, intrinsic oscillations, and the geometric origin of quantum behavior. For readers new to the Time–Space Oscillation framework, a structured overview of the four foundational TSO conceptual papers is available in “Time Space Oscillations. Introduction papers” (Zenodo DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.1767154). This companion document summarises the core principles of TSO —TSO concept, Time dilation and Gravity equivalence, TSO & EM, TSO & QM—and provides direct links to the full manuscripts. It serves as the recommended starting point for understanding how the present photon model fits into the broader TSO structure.
