Optimization of a VCO-Based Pixelated Particle Detector for particle discrimination and tracking
The motivation of this work is to provide a system available for particle tracking and discrimination. The chosen methodology consists in using an indirect detection to avoid noise consideration linked to the use of a wide band amplifier. The detector is dimensioned by electrical simulations (Cadence) for the signal conditioning part and a device simulator (Synopsis) for detection matrix. Then, we demonstrate the ability to track different types of particles and to establish a clear relationship between input current characteristics and the corresponding output signal, thereby enabling particle identification
